Climate Change & Sustainability Network For Students

The Lawson Climate Institute Student Network brings together multidisciplinary researchers from across the University of Toronto to foster connections and strengthen engagement . Students have the opportunity to attend workshops, seminars and social events throughout the year.

Total members: 197

Our students and PDF network has grown from 124 to 197 members in 2022, an increase of 60% in membership due to CPE continuous engagement and programming. 197 student and PDF members (PDF, graduate and undergraduate) represent 7 different divisions reflecting on the width and breadth of CPE outreach. Grad students represent the majority of the network’s 124 members (or 63%) while PDF represent 41 (27%) and undergrad students represent the remaining 29 (15%). This is due to the nature of research-oriented focus at CPE. [Note: data from 2022]

Climate Positive Energy has integrated into the Lawson Climate Institute.

Integration of the Climate Positive Energy Initiative (CPE) into the Lawson Climate Institute (LCI) represents a strategic evolution that amplifies University of Toronto’s collective impact on climate solutions. CPE's established expertise in sustainable energy research and innovation becomes a cornerstone of the Lawson Climate Institute's comprehensive mandate to address the climate crisis through technology, policy, and education.

Existing and ongoing grants, research projects, partnerships, and other activity under Climate Positive Energy will continue uninterrupted and will transition to operate under the Lawson Climate Institute brand in the coming months.
